about

I have been interested in colors since early age but discovered the power of painting as an adult during a sick leave in 2002. After several years away from painting due to work and other life commitments, I decided on New Year's Eve 2016/2017 to start painting again. My goal this time was to participate in at least one art exhibition during 2017. How has it gone since then? Quite well, I’d say!
There is definitely a growing interest in my abstract paintings, which is fantastic, and I have participated in several art exhibitions since then. I was, among other things, invited to participate in an international art exhibition in Bologna in the fall of 2019, where 90 artists from different countries were represented with their artworks. Since October 2024 I am also a member of the art community - Artist Arena.

When I paint, I almost exclusively use acrylic paints as they suit my artistic expression best. My artistic style can best be described as a free and experimental art form. I usually start a painting without any plan, relying on my intuition and letting my creative mind guide me. I build up the painting in multiple layers, often with a coarser texture at the base. I use water and different types of acrylic paint, often incorporating various tools and using the force of gravity in the creative process. Sometimes, I hide an object, text, or symbol to add a bit of mystery.

It is more common than not that the painting changes shape during the creative process, wich is both exciting and challenging for me as an artist. It is only when I feel that the painting has gained its identity, or rather its soul, that I can let go, add my signature, and give the artwork a name.
